Ford 201 Diesel Tractor Engine Denso 4.8kW 6.5 HP Gear Reduction Starter Adapter

This listing is for the aluminum adapter, M7x1.0 Studs, and M7x1.0 JetNuts. This adapter was developed due to years of frustration dealing with slow cranking and quickly drained batteries. This was designed around a Denso starter that is often used as a performance upgrade on the 7.3L Ford Powerstroke engine due to its high efficiency motor and gear reduction transmission. This Denso starter allows a faster cranking speed with less strain on the battery. The Denso model above uses the same 10 tooth gear that is on the original Ford 201 starter. The Denso starter will require the front bell housing to be removed as shown in the pictures. You will need to bandsaw cut or grind off one of the mounting ears to clear the 201 engine block. You can use the aluminum adapter as a guide. Once the bell housing has been cut you can then install the included studs into the Denso starter body. Followed by reassembly of the front bell housing and finishing the assembly by tightening the included nuts. The starter and adapter is now ready to be installed on your engine. Compatible with a wide range of Ford tractors and backhoes using the Ford 201 Diesel engine made from the 1960’s through 1970’s. Some popular models include but is not limited to the Ford 3000, 3500, 4000, 4500, 4600, 4550, and 5000.
